Engaging Us

Retained Searches: Typically used when firms seek either to fill crucial executive and management positions or when time is a critical factor. Retained searches are performed for positions requiring significant expertise that will be difficult to find without a concentrated effort.

Successful hires under this type of search agreement offer a longer guarantee. Our approach will vary depending on the needs of our clients, but the following represents much of what is involved:

  • Collecting information from company executives to help us understand the organization's goals, culture, expectations, position requirements, compensation package, etc.;

  • Developing a candidate profile that includes personality, management style, decision making ability, compensation;

  • Creating a position specification that includes education, type and years of experience, accomplishments and attributes sought;

  • Developing a search strategy that includes target organizations, prospective candidates and sources for referrals; most of our candidates are currently employed;

  • Conducting telephone screens and in-person or video-conferencing interviews;

  • Presenting resumes and background information on high potential candidates to the client company;

  • Arranging in-person and/or telephone interviews with candidates selected by the client company;

  • Conducting 360° reference checks, summarized in reports that review and verify accomplishments, while exploring strengths, weaknesses and professional style;

  • Remaining an active participant in the offer negotiations and hiring process;

  • After a candidate is hired, following up with them and the hiring manager to ensure a successful transition;

Exclusive Contingency Searches: A cost-effective method of guaranteeing our concerted effort to fill multiple openings or hard-to-fill positions. It provides our consultants with a three month or longer exclusivity agreement before the search is opened up to other firms. The search process involves:

  • Creating a position specification that includes education, type and years of experience, accomplishments, compensation and attributes sought;

  • Conducting telephone screens;

  • Presenting resumes and background information on high potential candidates to the client company;

  • Arranging in-person and/or telephone interviews with candidates selected by the client company;

  • Conducting reference checks;

Contingency Searches: Our standard contingency search service is designed for companies that do not want a devoted effort, but want to see qualified candidates with whom we are currently working. Resumes and CVs are submitted after potential candidates have been phone screened.

Our Approach to Sourcing: Our researchers utilize our proprietary network of contacts, our exclusive database, directories from numerous industry associations and information in the public domain.

As a boutique search firm, we have the added strategic advantage that derives from a smaller client base. With fewer restrictions on where we can recruit, our clients benefit with broader, deeper and more targeted candidate pools.
